Chocolate Hazelnut Spread

Nutella the delicious Italian import made at home and better.  Make your own homemade variety.  Spread on crackers, bread or fruit or just eat with a teaspoon. Enjoy in moderation.

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups of hazelnuts, skins removed
  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup hazelnut or coconut oil, plus more as needed
  • 1 Tbs vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions:
  1. Grind hazelnuts in food processor until it starts to look like peanut butter, about 2-4 minutes.
  2. Add confectioners’ sugar, cocoa powder, oil, vanilla and salt. Process adding more oil 1 Tbs at a time until the mixture becomes smooth.
  3. Store in a mason jar for up to 6 weeks at room temperature.

Makes about 1 ½ cups.

Goes perfectly with homemade graham crackers!
